1. What features does the
Slide Management program have?
The
Exploria program provides instant real time access to your
presentation content, eliminating the need for updates shipped
by mail. In most versions of the program, there is an easy-to-use
Presentation Builder and automated PowerPoint® template
for unified looking presentations. There are two optional
features your program may also have, the Reference Library
and the Calendar. The Reference Library lets you store and
search through journal articles in a printable PDF format.
There is also a Calendar feature to help you organize all
of your speaking events. You may use the program online to
receive content updates, or offline to view, create, and edit
presentations. This gives you the flexibility to use the program
without being connected to the internet, for example if you
are traveling.
2. Why is it taking so
long to download all the slides?
There
are different reasons that the download may be slow, such
as: a slow internet connection; your computer might be on
a large network which limits the speed of the download; or
the download might be a large file such as a movie.
3. Can I add my own slides?
If
the administrators of your program have given you access to
a local library, you will be able to add your own slides.
In the SLIDE LIBRARY, select Local Content from the drop down
box at the top of the screen. Then right click anywhere in
the open space below. Select Add Local Library. Input a name
for your library and select Add Library. Now go back to the
drop down menu and select the name you just created. Now right
click in the open space again, and you can either select New,
which will take you into PowerPoint® to create a new slide,
or Add, which lets you add a slide that you have already created.
4. Can I edit the corporate
slides that are already in the program?
No.
You are not allowed to edit the corporate slides for legal
and regulatory reasons.
5. How do I know if a slide
has been updated?
When
a slide in the program is updated, the word 'NEW' will appear
in the bottom right hand corner of the slide thumbnail.
6. Why do the slides seem
fuzzy when I view them?
The
slides seem fuzzy because you are viewing them in the 'Preview'
mode. In this mode the slides are represented in a jpeg format,
which compresses the file and causes them to seem fuzzy and
less clear.
When you view the actual slide presentation, by simply right
clicking on a presentation and selecting the option 'view'
or exporting the presention by selecting 'export' the slides
will appear as a slide show with a clear full screen view,
including any slide transitions.
7. How do I print the slides?
After you have created a presentation, find the presentation
title in 'My Local Presentations'. Right click on the presentation
title and select 'Export'. You can minimize or exit out of
the program and locate the file you exported on your computer.
Right click on the file and select 'Rename'. You need to change
the file extension from a .pps to a .ppt. If you don't see
the file extension when you select rename, please follow the
directions below*. If you have successfully changed the extension,
you may open the presentation as a Read Only PowerPoint file.
*Open My Documents. Select the 'Tools' tab at the top of the
screen. Select the 'View' tab. At the bottom of the page,
scroll down until you see 'Hide Extensions for Known File
Types'. Uncheck the box if it is checked. Click on the 'Apply'
button and then repeat the extension re-naming steps above.
